NJ WEC's Brandon Castro educates Bergen County residents on Runaway Inequality

November 15, 2017

On November 14th, 2017, Our Revolution of Bergen County organized an wealth inequality seminar in collaboration with Brandon Castro of the NJ Work Environment Council (NJWEC). Brandon Castro is one of the lead organizer for the Runaway Inequality campaign, which is a joint effort by Labor Institute's Les Leopold and NJWEC to educate our communities on the systemic economic problems that propagate inequality in our society. Highlighted by the recent revelation of the Paradise Papers, Brandon spoke in depth about the dire need to reform our financial system, corporate loopholes, and ultimately our cultural fond for greed.

As a call to action, Brandon requested that everyone first get educated about the facts. He and his team is coordinating a large state-wide education initiative to reverse this runaway inequality. With this goal in mind, WEC will be hosting two sets of “Train-the-Trainer” sessions with Les Leopold, focused on giving organizers and activists the tools needed to challenge corporate power in our state.

Our Revolution of Bergen County is working with WEC to host a session next year. Stay Posted!
